There is a Change.org petition against the project, with over 1000 signatures already:

Second is (was?) a survey being conducted by Tommy Waters, who says he was never informed of the project by the Mayor or the DPR when it was still in its planning stage even though he is the City Councilman for the area and the Chair of the City Council:
