Reprieve!

The DPR has issued a last-minute reprieve for the park!

Here are links to some sources (newspaper articles might be behind paywalls):

Honolulu DPR (via Facebook): After careful consideration, the Hawai‘i Kyudo Foundation (HKF) and the City and County of Honolulu will be seeking alternative sites for O‘ahu’s first public kyudojo as they suspend efforts to build the facility at Mau‘umae Nature Park in Kaimukī.

Hawaii News Now: City to relocate Japanese archery range following opposition from Kaimuki residents

Note that they do plan to revive the Kyudojo elsewhere, so many of the arguments that can be found on this website and elsewhere still apply.

The Kyudojo proposal for Mau'umae Nature Park might even return: this isn't the first time a proposal was made to build an archery range in this park, and bad ideas in Honolulu C&C policy seem to have the shelf life of a Hostess Twinkie™.
